The cost of the New Rider Course is determined by each participating dealership, and ranges anywhere from $195 to $350. Remember, the price usually includes the use of a motorcycle. 5 Key Points for New Riders
1.
Get trained and licensed by your local safety course provider.
2.
Wear protective gear - all the gear, all the time - including a helmet manufactured to the standards set by the DOT.
3.
Ride unimpaired by alcohol or other drugs. Do NOT drink and drive
4.
Ride within your own skill limits. No speeding.
5.
Be a lifelong learner by taking refresher rider courses.
Requirements for most New Motorcycle Rider Courses:
- A valid automobile driver’s License or learners permit
- To be able to ride a bicycle
- A heavy long-sleeve shirt or leather jacket
- Jeans, chaps or leather pants
- Over the ankle sturdy footwear (i.e. Harley-Davidson Boots)
- Full fingered gloves
- A motorcycle helmet that meets DOT requirements
- Protective eyewear
