Daytona Bike Week

Bike Week Daytona is pretty much is the kick off of the motorcycle rally season and definitely the kick off of the Florida Motorcycle Rallies and Events season. The weather at the 2007 Bike Week was as close to perfect as you are going to get, but you always need to be prepared for rain. The Daytona bike rally started in 1937 with the Daytona 200 and now is one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the world, the Daytona Beach Bike Rally is on the 2008 Lightning Customs Motorcycle Rallies List.

Over the last few years bike week has spread out. Now you will find that there is a lot going on at in Ormond Beach and Bruce Rossmeyer’s huge Destination Daytona. In addition, as the crowds have grown downtown and prices for lodging in Daytona have risen you will also find a lot more people and parties at the campgrounds. Other Daytona Bike Week trends that you will see are more non-Harley Davidson’s and more women riders.

About

Daytona has everything you have always wanted to see and more. If it is your first time at this bike rally you need to go to Main Street and ride on A1A. There are attractions not only in the Daytona area, but all over the surrounding areas. Destination Daytona alone has everything that you want to see and it is actually a traffic jam of motorcycles trying to get onto the property.

Ormond Beach and the Speedway have had a migration of vendors and have other events as well. The Speedway has tons of different racing events for all types of motorcycles including the historic Daytona 200, motocross, super bike and more. The infamous bars also have lots of attractions including live music, biker contests, vendors, bikini contests, wet t shirt contests, and more...

If you want to see bike shows while at the Daytona bike fest, the Boardwalk and Rat’s Hole Custom bike shows never disappoint. As the fat tire, chromed to the hilt, over the top craze has slowed down you will now see more old school bikes and custom metric bikes as their popularity has grown. If you like bobbers and choppers (not custom choppers that are 2008 models, but choppers that start are built around old model engines) then you have to go to Willies Tropical Tattoo Ride-In Old School Bike Show.

Between Daytona Beach and the surrounding area, Ormond Beach, Destination Daytona, the local dealerships, and the bars you will be able to see everything you want listed below and more. Custom builders, manufacturer’s displays, custom motorcycle companies’ displays, all of the major distributors are there, live music from top name acts, tons of biker contests, wet t shirt contests, wrestling in every type of food you have ever heard of at any other rallies, poker runs, charity events, the Wall of Death, burnout pits, raffles and drawings, leather jackets, and motorcycle helmets.
